Griffin Series IV

This large Griffin intaglio press has a 39.5x66" press bed and weighs 2,000 lbs. Like the tabletop series 0-2, it is designed to print in the opposite manner as the letterpresses do, by exerting enough force on an incised plate to pull the ink out of the crevices. We do also use it for relief printing, particularly with linoleum cuts. In addition, it's an excellent press for monoprinting, which is a printing technique that's relatively easy to do on a large scale.
