Frequently Asked Questions

How much does it cost?
Since the design and printing are custom, prices vary depending on what work is to be done. If you like what you see, please schedule a consultation. Let us know your target budget, and details about your project.

How long does the process take?
Once the designs are complete, it takes about two weeks to proof and print. The design process, however, varies. Clients who book early use the extra time making careful design decisions. Others who don’t have much time have to make decisions much more quickly. That said, a month and a half is a reasonable amount of time to complete everything.

My wedding is not until next year. When should we start working with you?
Beginning early has two advantages: you can take your time planning the design, carefully weighing each detail and sharing samples with your family and friends. You also will be placed in our print schedule early, so you know we won’t be too booked to take on your job.

Can I receive a sample?
Yes, let us know what you'd like to see. We recommend scheduling a phone consultation before we mail the samples. There are probably additional samples that are applicable to your project that we should send as well.

I have a drawing or image I'd like to use. Can you work it into our designs?
We’d love to. Show or tell us about your image and we’ll discuss the best ways to make it work. We do require that either you have created the image, or that you have permission to use it from the person who created it.

We would like bilingual invitations. Can you do that?
Yes. So far, we’ve created bilingual invitations in Spanish, Korean, Chinese, Vietnamese, Ukranian, and Russian. We’ve also printed Hebrew text in portions of invitations. We require some assistance from the client who provides a text file already typed out in the second language. In instances where character and line placement is critical, we will also require guidance and feedback.

The designs are already finished. Will you print them?
Although we specialize in custom design and printing, we do occasionally work with clients who are designers, or have already hired another designer. View our design guidelines and file requiremets here.

I saw an invitation that I liked from someone else. Can you make ours look like that?
We can identify what characteristics you especially like and take that into account in our designs, but the other invitation is another designer’s intellectual property and it would be illegal, not to mention inappropriate, for us to copy it. However, we do encourage you to show us what you like and dislike in our invitations and those of others. It helps us understand your personal sense of style so we can build a custom set to your specific tastes and requirements.

Is rush printing available? At what point is a job a rush?
A complex project, such as wedding invitations, are rush if they must be completed with custom design and printing in three weeks or less. Simpler projects require less time. Contact us to make sure it will fit into our print schedule. If we can take it on, we will.

What is the payment schedule?
When you decide to work with us, we provide you with a contract itemizing the estimate, describing the work, and stating the timeline. To hire us, you sign the contract and provide 1/3 of the total as a downpayment. The second third is due upon approval of the design proofs, and the final third is due upon completion. Visa, Mastercard, Discover, and personal check are accepted.

Can I purchase a gift certificate?
Yes, we can provide you with a letterpress printed certificate from our studio.
